It was a very busy weekend for Your Friendly Neighbourhood Photographer and his trusty camera. There were a couple of festivals in town with multiple musical acts, and I tried my best to photograph a large amount of them. The first batch of photographs to see this page is the group Roots, who were joined on stage by blues singer Dawn Tyler Watson at the annual South Shore Ribfest in Greenfield Park. Roots is a collective of local musicians who gather for this annual event. They were described at the event house band when introduced on Saturday night. As for Dawn Tyler Watson, she was won several awards over the years for her work, including Canadian Maple Blues Awards, Quebec Lys Blues Awards and 
some prestigious American awards as well. All of this has seen her be dubbed 'The Queen of the Blues in Montreal'. I made sure that my schedule was going to be clear as her performance was one that I didn't want to miss. I had to move around a bit during the concert as the band had lots of music stands at the front of the stage. Luckily, they disappeared after a few songs and I had a clearer view of the musicians. I tried my best to move through the crowd and not block anybodies view, or stay in the same place for to long for the same reasons. The first photograph was taken at f/2.8, 1/200sec, ISO 3200 at 70mm and the second was taken at f/2.8, 1/200sec, ISO 3200 at 41mm. Here are several more that I took during the performance.

It was a terrific show and everyone in the crowd was rocking and rolling to the classic rock and blues songs that were being played on the stage. I don't know if Roots performs outside of Greenfield Park, but if you're a fan of strong blues and jazz, you should really check out a Dawn Tyler Watson performance if you have the chance.
