GOB At Place Bell

We're off to a late start with the concert coverage here on the old blog, so let me take a moment that my concert photographs get posted first over at V13 Media.  You can follow this link to go directly to my page over there to see who I have been photographing.  Our first concert of the year took place back near the end of January at the Place Bell in Laval.  The first band to take the stage that evening my was Canadian Pop/Punk royalty, GOB.  Guitarists/Vocalists Tommy Thacker and Theo Goutzinakis have been leading this band since the mid 1990's and they are still in fine punk rock form.  They were at the forefront of Canada's pop punk explosion in the late 1990's and early 2000's.  The World According to Gob, from 2000 and Foot In Mouth Disease from 2003 were probably their biggest albums, and both were represented by a couple of songs in their admittedly very short set list.  Possibly due to the fact that Tommy Thacker was due back on the stage later that evening.  Though it's been more than ten years since the band has released any new albums, they still remain fun to see on stage.  Their catalogue of songs is also still very much appreciated, as evidenced by the blast that the fans were having behind me despite the early start time.  The 2000's may be starting to get further in the rear-view mirror, but GOB still occupy a large place in the collective memories of those who were there to see them at the beginning.  All of the photographs were taken at f/3.2 while using various different shutter speeds, ISO settings and focal lengths.  Here are the rest of the photographs that I took of GOB while they performed on the Place Bell stage.

To find out more about GOB and their music you can follow the link to their website.  To see the photographs of PUP and Sum 41, who also performed that night, you can do so by following the respective links.  GOB don't tour as much as they used to but if they happen to be playing near you, don't forget to check them out.  They still put on a great show.
