France D'Amour At Festin Culturel

One of my great joys when photographing concerts is getting a chance to photograph artists that I listened to when I was younger.  I still remember when France D'Amour's first album came out way back in 1992 and if you could tell seventeen year-old me that I'd be photographing her on stage, I'd probably not believe you.  But there I was.  She was on stage as part of the Bob Walsh tribute show, along with several other singers that had connections with the legendary Blues singer at the Festin Culturel in Brossard.  I was hoping to get a pass to shoot this show, but once I found out France D'Amour was going to be on the bill, I doubled my efforts to make sure that my request found its way to the right hands.  10 albums and several years later, her voice is still full of power and she continues to be a giant on the local and international scene.  The first photograph was taken at f/2.8, 1/200sec, ISO 3200 at 70mm.  Here are several more photographs that I took while she was on stage.

For those of you who have been following the updates during to the day, this will be the last batch of Festin Culturel photographs.  A big thank-you once again to the City of Brossard for getting me a pass to shoot the shows.  For those of you who are just getting on the page, don't forget to go see the photographs of Nanette Workman, Brian Tyler, Breen Leboeuf, Martin Goyette and Lynda Thalie that I also took.  You can see them all by following the links.  Speaking of link, don't forget to follow the link to France D'Amour's website to find out more about her and her music.
