Jay Kutcher At Fête Du Canada

On Canada Day, the place to be on the South Shore of Montreal is the borough of Greenfield Park, part of the Ville de Longueuil.  Our first artist to take the stage was hot New Country artist Jay Kutcher.  Formerly known as Jerome Couture, he first became known to the public as a contestant on the very first edition of La Voix.  Several albums later, he decided to make a change and listen to his heart, which led him to Country music.  A fresh start beckoned, and he rechristened himself as Jay Kutcher.  A trip to Nashville yielded a self-titled EP of new songs that were released last fall and he has been among the top tier of  Québec's wave of New Country stars.  On the stage, Jay Kutcher and the band were awesome.  Playing a selection of his new songs, some older ones and other country songs that inspired him down his musical path.  The gathered crowd loved every moment and had a great time, which extended well after his set had ended as Jay Kutcher stuck around to meet the fans well after his set had ended.  Thanks to the fine people at the Ville de Longueuil, I had free reign to shoot all through Jay Kutcher's performance.  I had planned on trying to limit myself to just the first three songs as if this was a regular indoor show, but I was having so much fun in the pit, and Jay Kutcher and the band were having so much fun on the stage, that I couldn't help myself and just kept shooting away.  As such, we'll forgo the shooting details for this update, though they were mostly all shot at f/3.2 with ISO's ranging from 400 to 1600 at various shutter speeds and focal lengths.  So, download, stream or put on a Jay Kutcher CD and enjoy the photographs that I took of him at the Fête du Canada celebrations.

If you would like to find out more about Jay Kutcher and his music, you can do so by following the link to his website.  If you would like to see the photographs that I took of Melissa Ouimet, who performed later that night, you can do so by following the link.  Much thanks goes out to Marie-France Rouleau of the Ville de Longueuil for granting me a pass to shoot the show.  It is very much appreciated.  Jay Kutcher will be touring around Québec over the Summer, so be sure to check out his show if he brings it to a town near you.
