While the last few updates have been about some frosty subjects, the weather took a turn from frosty to deep freeze over the last few days. I personally don't have any problems with this. One quick reminder that the oppressive heat and humidity of the Summer is but a few short weeks away. With that memory in my head, suddenly the freezing weather doesn't seem that bad. However, I understand that not everyone feels that way. With that in mind, why don't you all gather around my fire and warm up for a little bit. A vacation fire spot is a nice little gathering point, unless you happen to be an introvert with a camera. For your Friendly Neighbourhood Photographer, it suddenly becomes a never endind photoshoot. There are just so many interesting things to see with a fire, you can quickly lose track of the time looking at everything. The flames dance around all over the place, the charred wood is full of character and there are just so many bright colours that I simply can't resist grabbing my camera and shooting the night away. This photograph was taken at f/3.2, 1/15sec, ISO 70 at 70mm. Needless to say that a tripod is necessary at such a slow shutter speed, but setting up a chair or table close to the fire can do the trick if there is no place left in the car for a tripod. Which can be the case when you are packing for four. So, feel free to grab a seat and warm yourself up, but if you're looking for some marshmellows to roast or stories to tell, you may have to look elsewhere. I'm busy taking photographs.
