It was off to the Place Bell in Laval for a double shot of Power Metal from two of the genres powerhouses. Our concert
began with a set from Canadian power metal band Unleash The Archers. I've been waiting a long time to be able to photograph this band. I was originally due to do so back in 2021, but some members of their touring crew came down with 'The Plague' and as a result the show ended up being cancelled mere hours before it was supposed to happen. Good things come to those who wait, and here we are three years later, and I can tell you that for Unleash The Archers, it worth the wait. These guys, and lead singer Brittney Slayes,
are a thrill to watch live. The band are
all over the stage, jumping, running and dancing around, using more energy that
my total output for a year. Maybe two. Brittney’s voice is awesome and it’s not very difficult
to see why Unleash
The Archers are one of the top rising bands in the Great
White North. Not only is their music terrific, but a quick visit to their YouTube page to view their videos will let you in on their awesome sense of humour as well. Their sixth album,
Phantoma, was released earlier this year. Unleash The Archers opened their set with their classic song Abyss, before playing two
others from that new album, Ghosts In The Mist and Green & Glass. Unleash The Archers closed their set with the song Northwest
Passage, a Canadian classic by Stan Rogers which receives a modern metal edge
from these musical Canadian travelers.
They left quite the impression on everyone in attendance. The photographs here were all taken at f/3.2 while using various different shutter speeds, focal lengths and ISOs. Here are several more photographs of Unleash The Archers from their Place Bell performance.
If you would like to find out more about Unleash The Archers and their music, you can do so by following the link to their website. If you would like to see the photographs that I took of Powerwolf, who headlined the concert, you can do so by following the link. Unleash The Archers are really climbing the ladder at an amazing rate. Their new album is terrific, and though Unleash The Archers have no concerts planned until next year, go out and find their music. Then be sure to take in their show when the hit the road again in 2025. A great time is guaranteed.
