More Frosty Things

It got rather cold this week, but it wasn't a very good looking cold, but rather a dull grey one.  So, how about a few more frozen photographs from the backyard.  One of my old motto's that you have seen written here a few times over the years is to 'photograph everything'.  Everything that you come across can very easily be turned into a great looking photograph.  Now, it is true that Mother Nature helped me out a little bit by giving this objects a little bit of a frosted touch, but the original statement still stands.  There is nothing that special about a clothesline tightener, a couple of links of a chain or the front panel of a heat pump, but here they are.  The snowflakes really stand out against all of the objects as they have been really crystallized by the cold weather.  Add in a little bit of snow and ice fog and turn the ordinary into something extraordinary.  It's fun to take photographs of exotic locations, fancy objects and wild times, but the great thing about photography is that sometimes everything you need can be simply found in your backyard.  Just like everything that can be seen here.  The first photograph was taken at f/6.3, 1/200sec, ISO 100 at 70mm.  The second photograph was taken at f/6.3, 1/400sec, ISO 100 at 70mm and the third photograph was taken at f/6.3, 1/200sec, ISO 400 at 70mm.  If you're interested in photography but don't know where to start, just take a little stroll around the yard of your house.  There are all kinds of cool things to see, and every couple of months, the backgrounds change with the seasons.  Get out there and find some fun things to take shots of.
