Beach Weather At MTelus

One final night of Rock-tober goodness at the MTelus in Montreal got off to a great start this past Saturday night with one of those great little bands that one ends up discovering as an opening act.  On local radio, the joke going around was that if you wanted to go on tour with The Beaches, the best way to go about it was to name your band something similar.  Thus, how I was originally introduced to Beach Weather.  While they may have come to my attention as a punchline, it became apparent very quickly that this band was no joke.  This is the second go around for the band, which was formed in 2015 before going on hiatus after released a couple of EP's in 2017.  Lead singer Nick Santino and fellow original member Reeve Powers on bass, brought Beach Weather back in January of 2022 which lead to their most recent album, Pineapple Sunrise, which was released in January of this year.  That then led to another EP of stripped down versions of that album which they named Pineapple Sunset.  Beach Weather been on a pretty good run since getting back together, and it's not that hard to see why based on their live performance.  If limited to one word to describe them, it would have to be 'fun'.  It was fun to watch them perform up on the stage and the songs were really catchy.  Guitarist Sean Silverman was a whirling dervish of energy and it was fun, there's that word again, to watch him rock his way through the set and around the stage.  Another great opening band discovery.  That's why it's always a good idea to never skip out on the opening band.  The first photograph was taken at f/3.2, 1/250sec, ISO 6400 at 24mm and the second photograph was taken at f/3.2, 1/160sec, ISO 6400 at 24mm.  Here are several more photographs that I took of their performance.

If you'd like to find out more about Beach Weather and their music, you can do so by following the link to their website.  If you would like to see the photographs of The Beaches, who performed later that night, you can do so by following the link.  Music is supposed to be fun, and people should probably be having fun when performing.  It was pretty evident during the course of their set that the crowd was having a ball and the band was too.  Head out to see them, you're sure to have some fun as well.
