Brittany Kennell At Théâtre Fairmount

It's been a great year for Brittany Kennell and Montreal's Country sweetheart was back in town for a little acoustic set at the Théâtre Fairmount on Friday night.  2023 has seen her host Montreal's Lasso Festival, take part in the heralded Grande Ourse project with a collection of Québec's most promising Country artists, took part in her first European tour alongside headliner Ariel Posen, who also performed later that evening, and recorded a new album which is be released in the Spring.  There have already been a handful of songs from that album that have been released this year, including the very catch 'House And A Dog', which was released in February.    It was a pretty intimate performance, just her and guitarist Antoine Loiselle were on stage, and she had lots of friends and family in attendance to hear a mix a older songs and a couple from her forthcoming album.  Overhearing people in the crowd before the show, I couldn't help but hear the words "She's so nice" mentioned several times.  I've had the pleasure of having few quick conversations with her over the years at various events, and it's true.  Brittany Kennell is a very nice person, and you can't help but to root for her as she continues her climb up to the top of the Canadian Country music mountain, and perhaps even beyond.  Very quietly, this was the fourth time that I have been able to photograph Brittany Kennell in concert.  They've all been as an opening act, but her time as a headliner is just around the corner.  Perhaps that new album due this Spring will give her that needed little push further up the marquee.  Hope I'll be there when it happens.  The first photograph was taken at f/2.8, 1/250sec, ISO 10000 at 41mm and the second photograph was taken at f.3.2, 1/60sec, ISO 6400 at 35mm.  Here are several more photographs that I took of her performance.
