We're really behind the times here on the old blog. A
computer meltdown at the beginning of the month and a very busy concert
shooting schedule has left this place feeling a little abandoned. The
biggest victims in this have been my good friends at the Longueuil Ribfest who
have been waiting a few weeks to see the photographs that I took during their
concerts. So, we'll leave the writing to a minimum and get as much out
here as possible. A Saturday night highlight of the festival is always a performance by the Greenfield Park Roots Band. Every member of the group hails from Greenfield Park, and many of them still live there and perform in groups around the city. They are all the cream of the crop. I could listen to them all night. Their set always reads like a greatest hits selection for classic rock radio. Yes, the music I grew up on is now considered classic rock. Looking at they years may make me feel old, but listening to their great versions of those songs help keep me feeling young. All
of the photographs were taken at f/3.2 while using various different shutter
speeds, ISO settings and focal lengths. Here are the photographs that I
took of the Greenfield Park Roots Band while they performed at the Longueuil Ribfest.
If you would like to find out more about the Greenfield Park Roots Band, you are kind of out of luck. They don't have a website. I'm sure if you Google them, you might stumble upon a video or two of their performance. A big thank you goes out to Pennie Berrworth and Mark Christiano of the Longueuil Ribfest and All For The Children Foundation for allowing me to shoot the shows, and the Ville de Longueuil for all of their amazing technical work. You can also check out the other bands that I shot that day by following the links. The Derek Falls Band, Queen Flash, Texarillo, Leadville Union and Help! - The Ultimate BeatlesTribute. They were all terrific. Don't you dare miss The Greenfield Park Roots Band if you should find yourself at the Ribfest Next Year.
