It wouldn't be Rocktober without going to a rock show in town. Luckily for me, I found myself with a photo pass this past Thursday night for an evening of Swedish Heavy Metal as four of the genre's heaviest bands were due to hit the stage. Up first was Grand Magus. Celebrating 20 years in the industry, and hailing from Stockholm, the trio had the task of warming up a crowd that was already fairly warm to begin with. They recently released their ninth studio album, Wolf God and though they only got to play five songs, they left a very big impression on the crowd. The first photograph was taken at f/2.8, 1/400sec, ISO 3200 at 30mm. Here are several more photographs that I took of their performance.
f/2.8, 1/200sec, ISO 2000 at 50mm
f/2.8, 1/100sec, ISO 2000 at 50mm
f/2.8, 1/160sec, ISO 3200 at 26mm
f/2.8, 1/200sec, ISO 2000 at 24mm
f/2.8, 1/50sec, ISO 2000 at 42mm
f/2.8, 1/125sec, ISO 3200 at 24mm
f/2.8, 1/100sec, ISO 3200 at 50mm
f/2.8, 1/125sec, ISO 3200 at 50mm

When I go to a show I always make sure to get there early to see the opening bands. I often don't know them, but by the end of their sets I often like what I heard. Such was the case again here. If you'd like to find out more about Grand Magus and their music, follow the link to their website.
