Queenie At Fête Du Canada

Though she was officially only listed as a special guest of headliner Kim Richardson, Queenie gets to have an update of her own here on The Old Blog.  Hailing from right here in Montreal and of Haitian/Dominican descent, this awesome singing sensation took the crowds breath away while appearing at the Canada Day festivities in Greenfield Park organized by the Ville de Longueuil and Longueuil est Culture.  She sprung to attention by being a semi-finalist in the very popular 2021 edition of the singing competition Star Académie.  Though she has yet to release an album, she has been appearing on several shows since being on television, gaining all kinds of exposure and experience.  All this, while also being a new Mom.  That alone deserves her own update here on the blog.  The first photograph was taken at f/3.2, 1/200sec, ISO 1600 at 44mm.  Here are several more photographs of her performance.

If you'd like to find out more about Queenie and her music, you can follow the link to her Facebook page.  If you'd like to see the photographs I took of Derrick Frenette & Friends, Fuso and Kim Richardson, you can do so by following the links.  It's easy to see why Queenie went far on Star Académie, the sky is the limit on how far her voice will take her.
