The Tree That Ate The Moon

If you talk to My Lovely Assistant about my photography, she is likely to tell you that I take way to many shots of everything.  Guilty as charged.  I do spend lots of time looking for just the right angle.  But, there are some occasions when you see something, it makes you chuckle, and you just shoot right away.  Such as our image here.  While enjoying some swing time with the Junior members, I looked up and saw that the moon was still out.  It was also nicely placed between a couple of tree branches.  Nothing particularly out of the ordinary there, but it made me think of a couple of departed rockers, Neil Peart of the group Rush and Ronnie James Dio.  Peart had written a song called 'The Trees' and Dio was known for writing songs of fantasy and magical worlds, like one of his final hits, 'Master of the Moon'.  It just seemed natural to me that the two of them would come up with a great song about The Trees eating the Moon.  So, at f/5.6, 1/400sec, ISO 100 at 70mm, I shot away.  Not everything needs to be serious, after all, photography is about having fun.
