Alfa Rococo At Parc St. Mark

The Summer concert series put on by the Ville de Longueuil and Longueuil est Culture is already half way over.  Time truly does fly when you're having fun.  Speaking of having fun, there was certainly no other place more fun than the Parc St. Mark in Longueuil this past Friday night as Alfa Rococo took to the big stage and brought the entire area to their feet.  As I mentioned in my previous update (Laurence St-Martin..follow the link to see the photographs), the crowds at these outdoor shows are notorious for spending the whole concert seated in their lawn chairs.  So much so, that at the Parc St. Mark they actually divided the area in front of the stage in half.  One half for those who wished to stand, and the other half for those who wished to remain seated.  It took some convincing, and even having singer Justine Laberge going in to the crowd a couple of times, but by the end of the night, almost everyone had been standing at some point during he show.  Though not really being known for my rug cutting capabilities I did find myself tapping my toes on more than one occasion, and I might have even danced a few times with The Heir Apparent, though she is a bit more creative on the dance floor than yours truly.  Alfa Rococo regaled the crowd for more than an hour, playing several of their greatest hits, including the very popular 'Les chose invisible' and 'Météore'.  Alfa Rococo have been together as a group for 20 years, and are touring in celebration of the milestone number.  They also released a new album, their fifth, earlier this year titled 'Nouveaux horizons'.  As usual, I had no restrictions while shooting this show, so I may have gotten a little carried away, and who could blame me. Alfa Rococo were obviously having fun up on the stage, bouncing around in  seemingly endless bursts of energy, and their terrific songs made it easy for everyone in the park to have a great time as well.  Including your Friendly Neighbourhood Photographer.  In a nice touch, they invited everyone to get closer to the stage as the show came to an end for a special intimate ukulele aided duet to bring the wildly energetic show to a calming and relaxed end.  The photographs were all taken at f/3.2, with apertures ranging from f/3.2 to f/16 at several different focal lengths.  So, grab your dancing shoes and get ready to boogie, as here are the rest of the photographs that I took of Alfa Rococo during their performance at the Parc St. Mark in Ville de Longueuil.

If you would like to find out more about Alfa Rococo and their music, you can do so by following the link to their website.  As usual, a big thank you to the Ville de Longueuil and Longueuil est Culture for putting these shows together and for letting me shoot them.  Alfa Rococo will be traveling all over Québec this Summer as they celebrate their 20th anniversary and their new album.  Be sure to check them out for some good tunes and a good time.
