Lindsey Stirling At Place Bell

We're a little bit backed up on getting my concert photographs up here on The Old Blog.  I suppose we will catch up at some point, but this would be a good time to remind you that my concert photographs can be seen in a much more timely manner by visiting V13Media, which you can do by following the link.  If you'd like an even more direct route to my photographs, you can visit my personal page over there but using the following link.  The nEVEREST Duality tour hit Place Bell in Laval back in September, and one of co-headliners was an act that I have been wanting to see for a while now.  I first found out about Lindsey Stirling through some of those videos that seem to show up suddenly on your Facebook feed. Already a fan of hard rock and classical music, the thought of  hard rocking violinist had me intrigued.  I have been harsh of reality television shows in the past, but it may be time for this old dog to lighten up a little bit.  They have given us some great performers over the years, and Lindsey Stirling is another to add to that list.  I didn’t know what to expect, but she went all out and gave the kind of performance that Paganini could have never imagined.  Dancing, twirling, jumping and singing, Lindsey Stirling was a whirling dervish of musical energy.  Doing all those things, while playing the violin, is quite the feat.  She gave us a good taste of her talent with the opening three songs, all originating from different albums.  During ‘Underground’ she was joined by a team of dancers.  The image of them all dancing around each other with their twirling capes was very cool.  Kind of like a hard rock version of Riverdance.  Except a whole lot more rock and roll.  Her most recent album, Duality, was released last year and was a rather impressive seventh album in only 12 years.  Lindsey Stirling certainly lived up to my high opinion and hopefully she finds her way back up here again some day.  Based on all of the cheers that I heard from the photographers pit, I am certain not alone in feeling that way.  All of the photographs were taken at f/3.2 while using various different shutter speeds, ISO settings and focal lengths.  Here are the rest of the photographs that I took of Lindsey Stirling while she was performing on the Place Bell stage.

To find out more about Lindsey Stirling and her music, you can follow the link to her website.  If you would like to see the photographs of Halestorm and Apocalyptica, who also performed that evening, you can do so by following the respective links.  Seeing Lindsey Stirling in concert was certainly an unforgettable event.  The tour has come to an end, but she will be touring again in November and December.  Don't you dare miss it when Lindsey Stirling plays in a town near you.
