We're a little bit backed up on getting my concert photographs up here
on The Old Blog. I suppose we will catch up at some point, but this
would be a good time to remind you that my concert photographs can be
seen in a much more timely manner by visiting V13Media, which you can do
by following the link. If you'd like an even more direct route to my
photographs, you can visit my personal page over there but using the
following link. It's been a few years since the last time I shot a show at Club Soda, so it was nice to return to the legendary Montreal concert hall. Opening the
show was a band of rockers from Ireland known as Mark Daly & The
Ravens. They put on a terrific set that
really kicked the night into overdrive the
moment the lights went down. Their first visit to Montreal was a great
success. The crowd was roaring by the
second song and the diehards even burst into the ‘Olé Olé Olé’ chant as
a sign of appreciation. The band did a
funny bit where they mentioned that they had all kinds of merch available at
the table, only to notice that their merch guy was in the crowd. Asked why he was there instead of manning his
post, he quickly quipped, “You guys sound great, I wanted to see the show!” Their most recent album, Devil’s Arms, was
released last year, but there have been a whole series of singles released
since then that I have been tracking down since their performance. Mark Daly & The Ravens put on a terrific
show and I hope we get to see them in these parts again. All of the photographs were taken at f/3.2 while using various different shutter speeds, ISO settings and focal lengths. Here are the rest of the photographs that I took of Mark Daly & The Ravens while they performed on the Club Soda stage.
If you would like to find out more about Mark Daly & The Ravens, you can do so by following the link to their website. If you would like to see the photographs I took of The Darkness, who performed later that night, you can do so by following the link. Mark Daly & The Ravens haven't been on this side of the Atlantic very often, but the awesome reception they got from the Montreal fans will hopefully convince them to stop by again in the future. Don't you dare miss it when they perform in a town near you.
