Welcome To Rocktober

October 1st, easily one of my favourite days of the year.  In general, it is a safe bet that all of the miserable heat and humidity is safely in the rear-view mirror for another year.  Mostly though, I just love to say the word 'Rocktober'.  I lifted the title from an old contest held by our classic rock station, 97.7 CHOM FM, and have been using it every October 1st for a good many years now.  It's just to classic of a title to let go of.  I found myself standing next to a lonely microphone during a recent shot at the MTelus in Montreal by Mattstagraham, The Buzzcocks and Descendents.  Feel free to follow the links to revisit those shows.  In between sets, I am always looking for something that will make a cool Rocktober photograph, and this close-up of the microphone won my attention this year.  The photograph was taken at f/3.2, 1/30sec, ISO 8000 at 70mm.  It should be a musical month here on the old blog.  I've got a few shows lined up, and some leftovers from September that have yet to be published here.  With that in mind, get your guitars in tune, Rocktober 2025 has arrived!
