Our evening of pop punk fun down at the Théâtre Beanfield began with an energetic group of lads from St. Catherines, Rival Town. This six-piece filled the stage and dominated from start to finish. While nobody is a fan of rules, Rival Town do have one rule when it comes to attending one of their shows. If the band jumps, the crown needs to jump as well. The fine folks on hand didn't need much more of an invitation. The floor was bouncing as the sold out crowd did their best to keep up with the bouncing and the beat. And who can blame them. Up on the stage, Rival Town looked to be having the time of their lives in front of a crowd that was bouncing along with them and singing along to the best of their abilities. Though I may not have experienced Rival Town before this show, I was obviously in the minority. Their most recent album, 'Useless Hands' was released back in 2019, but there have been a whole slew of EPs and singles that have been released since then. I did notice that their single 'Swear Jar' was very popular with the crowd, and your friendly neighbourhood photographer as well, and they capped off their performance with a riotous version of the Limp Bizkit hit, 'Break Stuff'. Possibly a new album of material will be appearing soon. The first photograph was taken at f/3.2 1/200sec, ISO 6400 at 59mm and the second photograph was taken at f/3.2, 1/125sec, ISO 3200 at 35mm. Here are several more photographs of Rival Town performing.

If you would like to find out more about Rival Town and their music, you can do so by following the link to their website. If you'd like to see the photographs that I also took of The Anti-Queens and Bowling For Soup, who also performed during the night of musical fun, you can do so by following the links. Rival Town are still a relatively young band, even though they've been together for a little while now. Now that I know them, I can't wait to watch them follow their musical path. Check Rival Town out if they're playing near you, just be ready to jump if you do.
