Our big farewell show at the Théâtre L'Olympia continues with the second band on the bill. This was no ordinary 'second act either, but rather New York Hardcore legends, and the band I was most looking forward to see after the headliners, Agnostic Front. Out first was band leader, and self-professed ‘Most Interesting Man In The World’, it says so in his book, Vinnie Stigma. I have decided that I want to be like Vinnie Stigma when I grow up. Now, mind you, I'm less than a year away from 50, so it may be a little late to aspire to such a thing, but the man was an unstoppable force of nature up on the stage. Leading the band while making his way to all corners of the stage, and to the front as well. My biggest disappointment on the night happened when he placed himself right in front of me to pose. I consider my fingers to be pretty fast, but I had just turned to take some pictures of the crowd and was not fast enough in adjusting the ISO to get a nice shot. It has been over a week since the show and I am still kicking myself over it. The fan shot in question is a little lower down on the page. I hope you enjoy it because it will always remind me of what I missed. Agnostic Front got their set off to a blazing start, but things got serious when singer Roger Miret hit the stage. Pounding his chest like a caged gorilla, he called for the first circle pit seconds upon taking the mic. The crowd was only too happy to oblige, and Stigma himself joined in on the fun by jumping in himself a few songs later. Agnostic Front's most recent album, and fifteenth in their storied career, was 2019's 'Get Loud!'. They didn’t steal the show, but they definitely lived up to their reputation and the high expectations I had walking in. All of the photographs were taken at f/3.2 while using various different shutter speeds, ISO setting and focal lengths. Here are several more photographs I took of Agnostic Front during their performance at the Théâtre L'Olympia.
If you would like to find out more about Agnostic Front and their music, you can do so by following the link to their website. If you would like to see the photographs that I took of Harvest, Obituary and Sepultura, who all played that night, you can do so by following the respective links. Agnostic Front are a huge part of the New York music scene, and remain so to this day. If you get a chance to see them live, don't miss out. Just be sure to watch out for Vinnie Stigma in the circle pit.
