Christmas Dessert Is Served

Long time readers are well aware that My Lovely Assistant is a master of the culinary arts, but she always finds a way to outdo herself when it comes times to make Christmas desserts.  This year was no different.  Instead of the traditional bûche de Noël, she opted for something a little different.  The yule log became a yule stump, complete with meringue mushrooms and crumbled pieces of cake dyed green to resemble moss.  The chocolate and chestnut spread creation was a big hit at Christmas Eve supper.  I thought we might have few pieces to share over breakfast the next morning, but there was nothing left to bring home.  I posed the stump in front of our Christmas tree, lit the lights and shot away.  The first photograph was taken at f/7.1, 1/30sec, ISO 6400 at 45mm.  The second photograph was taken at f/7.1, 1/40sec, ISO 6400 at 70mm and the third photograph was taken at f/7.1, 1/25sec, ISO 6400 at 35mm.  Hopefully you all had as tasty of a holiday as we did.
