Saturday night may be alright for fighting, but Friday night is the night that sets up the rest of the weekend. With that in mind, having the opening slot for a Friday night of Country music goodness is not a spot to take lightly. On this night, the Centre Bell in Montreal was the sight where the cities Country music fans gathered and they were treated to a performer was was making her very first appearance in town, Dasha. She took her musical career in to her own hands after dropping out of University during 'The Plague' and never looked back. A few short years later and she was already on the Billboard charts, released a single, 'Austin, which went viral on TikTok and just released a new album. That album, 'What Happens Now', came out in February of last year and placed on the Country charts all over the world. That is quite an
unforgettable few years. It was also an unforgettable night out for one fan
when Dasha take their phone to record a portion of the opening track of her set
‘Ain’t No Friend of Mine’. Still
relatively new to the scene, Dasha definitely had several fans in the building on this night. All of the photographs were taken at f/3.2 while using various different shutter speeds, ISO settings and focal lengths. We photographers were positioned back at the soundboard for this show, but Dasha made good use of the extended U-shaped stage while still allowed me to get some good shots despite the distance. I usually try to get in some shots of the band as well, but they remained at the back so it sadly wasn't possible with my 70-200mm. Here are the rest of the photographs that I took of Dasha while she performed on the Centre Bell stage.
If you would like to find out more about Dasha and her music, you can do so by following the link to her website. If you would like to see the photographs that I took of Scott McCreery and Kane Brown who also performed that night, you can do so by following the respective links. It's always nice to discover some new talent, Dasha is definitely someone we'll have to keep our eye. Be sure to check out Dasha when she performs in a town near you.
