Telescreens At MTelus

It must be starting to get a little repetitive by this point, but near the top of the list of things I love about photographing concerts is the discovery of new bands.  Since joining up with V13 Media, I had had the good fortune to see and hear several awesome 'new to me' bands and the latest are TelescreensThey hit the MTelus stage at full blast and didn't turn back.  Hailing from New York, Telescreens were like a throwback to the down, dirty and grimy rock scene that the city is known for.  Singer Jackson Hamm is a like a mix of Rocky & Rambo, but holding an electric guitar with uncut strings on the end.  Theirs was a short performance, but one that left a mark.  Hamm often told the crowd of fans in the upper deck to rise from their seats and to enjoy the moment and also made a quick trip in to the crowd while security did their best to try and find the musician that they had lost in sold out crowd.  He's also a pretty good storyteller as well.  Each song seemed to have it's own little introduction story which I found to be rather interesting.  Telescreens released their second album, '7' back in October and it contains all of the songs they performed on this night.  If the rest of the albums sounds as good as the ones we heard live, than it is sure to be a winner.  Telescreens easily join the list of opening bands that I have loved.  While I won't be following them from city to city, like one awesome fan who they recognized in the crowd, I really hope that they will make a return visit soon.  All of the photographs were taken a f/3.2 while using various different shutter speeds, ISO settings and focal lengths.  Here are the rest of the photographs that I took of Telescreens as they performed on the MTelus stage.

If you would like to find out more about Telescreens and their music, you can do so by following the link to their website.  If you would like to see the photographs that I took of Franz Ferdinand, who performed later that night, you can do so by following the link.  Telescreens were terrific to watch and I really enjoyed their set.  Be sure to check them out when they play in a town near you.
