Black Stone Cherry At Théâtre Corona

Some bands, it just seems like you're waiting forever to get to see them.  I first got introduced to Black Stone Cherry in 2014 with their Magic Mountain album.  Ever since, I've been waiting to see them in concert, but they never made it up here for a show.  Eight years, three albums and two EP's later, they finally brought Southern Rock sound to the Théâtre Corona in Montreal.  Even though they were there as a supporting act, they still were afforded enough time for a generous 12 song set.  Singer Chris Robertson's unmistakable Southern drawl filled the hall and guitarist Ben Wells was just an unstoppable force all evening as he hurled himself from one corner of the stage to the other.  I'm not sure how many people arrived as Black Stone Cherry fans, but by the time they busted out a cover of Electric Light Orchestra's "Don't Bring Me Down", they had the whole building in the palm of the hands and removed whatever doubt might have remained in the others with the one-two punch of "White Trash Millionaire" and "Blame It On The Boom Boom".  Black Stone Cherry were touring in support of their most recent album, The Human Condition, which was released back in 2020.  Being released during the height of 'The Plague' obviously pushed back any touring plans they may have had at the time, but an extra two years was worth it for the knock-out performance that we got.  They also have a new live album out, Live From The Royal Albert Hall.  The first photograph was taken at f/3.2, 1/80sec, ISO 6400 at 24mm and the second photograph was taken at f/3.2, 1/40sec, ISO 3200 at 24mm.  Here are several more photographs that I took of their performance.

If you'd like to find out more about Black Stone Cherry and their music, you can do so by following the link to their website.  If you'd like to see the photographs that I took of Steel Panther later that night, you can do so by following this link.  A big thank you goes out to John Bambino and Rachel Miloscia of Indegoot Management for getting me a photo pass to the show.  Seeing Black Stone Cherry live was everything I had thought it would be.  Hopefully it won't take another eight years before they make their way back up here again.
