Hauterive At Paroisse Saint-Hubert

We've passed the half way mark of the Summer concert series put together by the Ville de Longueuil and Longueuil est Culture, but due to some scheduling and rain, it was only the first concert that I got to shoot at the Paroisse Saint-Hubert. Of all the locations that get used for this series, this one is easily my favourite. Once the sun goes down and the production crew lights up the old church, there aren't very many other backgrounds out there like it. Playing before that background this week was Hauterive. The duo consists of longtime Québec favourites, Mara Tremblay and Catherine Durand. Together, they joined up and took the name of Mara's hometown, Hauterive, as their band name.  Both women are long time music veterans, and though I have never seen Catherine Durand perform before, I have seen a few Mara Tremblay shows in my time.  In this setting, both appeared to be having a grand old time.  The songs have a folksy feel to them, but there is still an underlying of rock that fuels the songs.  Both veterans of the stage were in fine form and clearing having a great time before an audience that was having as much fun as they were.  Their first album recorded together, Hauterive, was released earlier this year and we got to hear several tracks from the album.  The Heir Apparent, once again riding shotgun with me and her little camera, was having a ball as well taking photographs with me while also spinning and dancing to her hearts content.  She is having a blast at these shows and I love seeing it.  The first photograph was taken at f/3.2, 1/640sec, ISO 1600 at 70mm and the second photograph was taken at f/3.2, 1/800sec, ISO 400 at 100mm.  Here are several more photographs that I took of the performance.

If you'd like to find out more about Hauterive and their music, you can do so my following the link to their website.  Thanks once more to the Ville de Longueuil and Longueuil est Culture for putting on these shows.  Hauterive put on a a great show, which shouldn't come as a surprise considering who the band consists of.  They will be touring until the Spring of 2024, so go check them out if they're playing near you.
