To me, there's nothing better than being able to take in some live music. That's what makes the Summer Concert series put together by the Ville de Longueuil and Longueuil est Culture so much fun. On almost every night of the week, you can show up at one of the many parks in the city and take in a performance by a band. Some you may know, some you may not. But often, it's the ones that you don't know that leave the best impressions. Such was the case this past Friday night when the group Joli Jolie was playing in the Parc St. Mark. Such energy and fun on stage. They played a set speckled with original tunes and some good time classics that get your toes tapping and your head bobbing to the beat. That was just the remedy for people looking for a good time after the major storm that had blown through town the night before. At
one point they were even joined on stage by a little girl, complete with mini guitar and violin. As I was walking around with the family at this point, I didn't actually find out if she was connected to the band or not, but she was certainly a hit with the crowd. They made the long five hour drive down to Longueuil from Chicoutimi, so there is no
reason why anyone couldn't make a 15minute trip to the park to see them
perform. Mind you, I'm glad that it did only take me 15minutes as opposed to five hours to get there. Not quite sure how The Heir Apparent and Crown Prince would deal with such a ride.
