Lou-Adriane Cassidy At Parc St. Mark

We're getting near the end of July and the Summer concert series put together by the Ville de Longueuil and Longueuil est Culture is still rolling right along.  Rolling so quick that this past Friday was already the final concert to be held at Parc St. Mark.  Holding the distinction of performing at what is traditionally the most high profile of these shows was Lou-Adriane Cassidy.  The terrible weather we've been having almost washed this concert out, as it has done for several others this year.  A storm passed through earlier in the afternoon, but the clouds parted just before showtime.  With that, though the crowd was a little sparse to begin, Lou-Adriane Cassidy and her band hit the stage with enough sustained energy that kept the rain clouds at bay for the entirety of their performance.  I guess that makes sense because one could say that their performance was a force of nature.  Maybe it's because I'm getting older, but the amount of energy these youngsters spend up on the stage is enough to wear me out.  I've read reviews of her shows before so I knew that it was going to rock, but they were up there giving it their all.  Lou-Adriane Cassidy first got noticed a few years ago when she was a contestant on the television show, La Voix.  On the show, she was mentored by another Québec rock icon, Eric Lapointe, and you can see that she learned much.  As the songs continued, and the rain stayed away, more and more people began to arrive to take in the show.  Almost as if drawn in by the power of the performance.  And how could they not.  The band was on point and her voice is one that can all at once dominate, tease and show vulnerability.  She's only two albums in to her career, 'C'est la fin du monde à tous les jours' from 2019 and the most recent being 'Lou-Adriane Cassidy Vous Dit: Bonsoir', which was released in 2021, so one can't help but to imagine her dominating stages for a good many years to come.  The first photograph was taken at f/2.8, 1/500sec, ISO 3200 at 70mm, the second photograph was taken at f/3.2, 1/800sec, ISO 6400 at 65mm and the third photograph was taken at f/2.8, 1/320sec, ISO 3200 at 70mm.  As mentioned, there was an awful lot of energy getting used up on that stage, and I guess some of it wore off on my old bones.  The Heir Apparent was getting a good work-out as well as we were having fun dancing and snapping away.  With that in mind, here are several more photographs that I took of their performance.

If you'd like to find out more about Lou-Adriane Cassidy and her music, you can do so by following the link to her website.  Thanks once more to the Ville de Longueuil and Longueuil est Culture for putting the show together.  This was a bit of a bigger update than usual.  After the show had ended, The Heir Apparent spotted Lou-Adriane and her band leaving their tent and meet some fans.  We kind of got the feeling that she would like to say hello, and so I took her to meet the band.  Her first groupie experience, as said My Lovely Assistant.  Once there, everyone we met was so nice with The Heir Apparent, so I through a couple of extra photos into the update as a thank-you.  Lou-Adriane Cassidy has several more show scheduled around the Province this Summer.  Head out to see this rising star.  I know I'll be keeping tabs, hopefully I'll cross her musical path again one day.
