It was certainly an odd Summer. The month of June was cold and grey. Summer was hot and humid and then August was rainy and wet. Now, we suddenly find ourselves at the beginning of October with temperatures more commonly seen in July. The other little oddity is that the large batch of Sunflowers that we planted in March, never took bloom, save for a couple of plants in mid-September. I also missed out on another Butterfly season. One was spotted flying through the yard, but it didn't stick around. So, it was off to the archives to find my one visitor who was nice enough to let me photograph him last year. The photograph was taken at f/7.1, 1/640sec, ISO 640 at 200mm. We've harvested some seeds from the few Sunflowers that came out this year, so hopefully we'll get a full patch again next year. And once again, hopefully the butterflies will return as well.
