It's October first, or as we like to call it in these parts, 'Rocktober' first. The term was first introduced by our local rock music station, CHOM 97.7 FM, in relation to a series of concert giveaways they had a few years back. I thought it to be rather cool, so I've been keeping it alive here on the blog over the last year years. With that in mind, it could be a musical Rocktober in these parts as I already have two concerts lined up to shoot and the month is still young. When I'm at those shows, though my focus is of course on the bands who are performing, in the moments before the show starts, I'm always looking around to see if there is anything interesting to shoot. That's where today's photograph come from. It was taken while I was waiting for the band Testament to hit the stage last year. Don't forget to follow the link to see the photographs. While waiting, I noticed these smoke machine/spotlights have had a little bit of smoke already coming out of them, creating little swirls of light. Before the music began, I quickly took my photograph at f/3.2, 1/30sec, ISO 1600 at 63mm. I hope you all have a great Rocktober.
