Montreal's MTelus was the scene of a rocking double bill a little while back. Dubbed 'The Northern Exposure Tour', the first of our co-headliners for the evening, Buckcherry, hit the stage with the intention to leave their mark. It's been almost sixteen years since I saw them for the first time and I can still remember how raw and powerful they seemed at the time. Several days, months and years may have passed since that show, but they're still as powerful on the stage now as they were back then. The band that claims to put the danger back
in to rock and roll came out with guitars blazing. They opened their set with ‘”Roar Like
Thunder” the lead single from the upcoming album to be released in June of the
same name. What followed was another
nine songs of rock and roll fun. Singer
Josh Todd was on fire. Hitting the stage
in a rather dapper suit, the further we got in to the show the less he seemed
to be wearing until his full torso of tattoos were on display by the end of the
set. We got a little taste from all of
their albums while Buckcherry finished with a wild flourish that included ”Say
F@ck It”, which had the everyone on the floor bouncing up and down. This was followed by a revved up version of
Bryan Adams’ “Summer of ‘69” before Buckcherry brought their set to a close with
a medley of songs that began and ended around their big hit, “Crazy Bitch”. It was a great performance. All of the photographs were taken at f/3.2 while using various different shutter speeds, ISO settings and focal lengths. Here are the rest of the photographs that I took of Buckcherry as they performed on the MTelus stage.
If you would like to find out more about Buckcherry and their music, you can do so by following the link to their website. If you would like to see the photographs of Steel Panther and Kurt Deimer, who performed later that evening, you can do so by following the link. Buckcherry may now be considered veterans of the scene, but they rock any building they are in just as hard as they did back in the day. Buckcherry continue to tour in to the month of August, so don't miss them when they play in a town near you.
