Triple bill shows tend to have early starts, meaning that sometimes the very first group on the bill goes on pretty early. It's not a glorious position, but it is a pretty important one. While the building may not be full just yet, the people who are there and the hardest of the hardcore and they are looking for one thing. That is to rock. The MTelus held a triple bill show a while back, the Northern Exposure tour headlined by Buckcherry and Steel Panther. You can check out those photographs by following the link. Before
getting to our headliners, we were treated to a pretty good performance. Up first was Kurt Deimer. A true jack of all entertainment trades, when
he isn’t up performing on the stage, he also shows up in various Hollywood
films. His set was short, but very
loud. I don’t think I had even felt so
much bass before in my life. Had anyone
gone into cardiac arrest at this show, a few second in front of the speakers would
have been far effective than any defibrillator. Kurt Deimer had an EP and a few singles to his name, but he is just
getting started. A few days after this show he released his very first full length album, the appropriately titled 'And So It Begins...'. We look forward to hearing more from him. He sure seemed to be impressed with the
crowd, even taking a stroll among the people while singing. Kurt Deimer promised to be back soon, and I will be
looking forward to his return. All of the photographs were taken at f/3.2 while using various different shutter speeds, ISO settings and focal lengths. Here are the rest of the photographs that I took of Kurt Deimer while he and his band performed on the MTelus stage.
To find out more about Kurt Deimer and his music, you can do so by following the link to his website. If you would like to see the photographs that I took of Buckcherry and Steel Panther, who also performed that night, you can do so by following the respective links. Kurt Deimer has a handful of shows lined up for the rest of the year. Go check out the show if he ends up playing in a town near you.
