The summer concert series put together by the Ville de Longueuil and Longueuil est Culture brought us back to the front steps of the Paroisse Saint-Hubert. Up on the stage was one of the rising voices of Québec's rising country music scene, Fred Dionne. I've enjoyed watching Fred Dionne grow as an artist. I first photographed him back in 2019 at my very first Canada Day as an accredited photographer. His guitar and my camera have crossed paths a few more times over the years and every time has been a great show. A part of Québec's booming young county music movement, Fred Dionne is real easy to listen to with his smooth sound and heartfelt lyrics. On this night he was entertaining a very welcoming crowd with a selection of songs from his most recent album, El Dorado, which was released earlier this year.
The album was inspired by a road trip through the American west coast and has earned him several rave reviews and award nominations. Fred Dionne and his band also played some killer cover versions and mash-ups of some great classic tunes that had everyone swaying to the music and holding their illuminated telephones in the air. He was joined on stage by guitarist Étienne Joly, who we have also seen perform several times in the past. He is, in my own humble opinion, one of the best guitarist in Québec and it is always a treat to see, and hear, him perform. On this night, he was the icing on the cake. Fred Dionne was standing tall and proud in the center of the stage, and everyone was rocking out right along with him. All of the photographs were taken at f/3.2 while using various different shutter speeds, ISO settings and focal lengths. Here are the rest of the photographs that I took of Fred Dionne while he performed at the Paroisse Saint-Hubert.

If you would like to find out more about Fred Dionne and his music, you can do so by following the link to his webpage. As usual, a big thank you goes out to the Ville de Longueuil and Longueuil est Culture for all of their work putting this summer concert series together and for allowing me to photograph the shows. It is very much appreciated. Fred Dionne has several more concerts line up this year and in to 2026. Be sure to check him out when he arrived to play in a town near you.
