Turning Down The Heat

I've been trying real hard to avoid making this post as it generally ends up being one of my least popular updates of the year.  But, much like my front lawn, I've reached my burning point and I need to cool things down.  It has been a very hot summer this year.  There have been several days of temperatures going over 30 Celcius, several days with the humidity bringing that temperature over 40 Celcius and the evenings have not been cool enough to help lower those temperatures.  In other words, as the popular saying in my family goes, it has been hotter than the hubs of hell.  The heat pump has been working overtime on some days to keep the house cool.  Luckily, The Heir Apparent has joined my side in the A/C wars and I now have a second voice to team up with when we let My Lovely Assistant know that it is time to turn the machine on.  For those of you who don't have the comfort of conditioned air, here is a nice cool shot to hopefully bring your temperatures down.  Just imagine yourself in knee deep snow with the wind blowing hard enough to leave a nice layer of ice on everything around.  Ahh, I feel cooler already.  The photograph was taken at f/6.3, 1/4000sec, ISO 400 at 35mm.  Keep the faith, fellow cold weather friends.  We're half way through August, cooler times are on the way.  I hope.
