Our second musical act on Canada Day in Greenfield Park was Oliver Charles. Another young singer/songwriter, Oliver has five singles available on iTunes with his first full length album due to be released later this year. He kept the sweltering concert goers entertained with a mix of his own personal songs and some popular covers. He brought along a special guest as well. He was joined on stage by Gabriella, another talented young artist who just released her second album, Tu es Flou, earlier this year. Since the sun began to go down, it began to get a little more interesting to take some photographs as the stage lights began to be turned on. I feel like
I'm not doing the show justice by not saying very much. I generally go into these shows not knowing very much about the young artists involved, though I often leave having very much enjoyed what I heard. The same holds true with this concert. I didn't know a thing about Oliver Charles or Gabrielle before this show but they put on a terrific concert that I very much enjoyed. The temperature continued to rise, despite my taking a little walk through a water tent and being supplied with full bottles of water from My Lovely Assistant who found a nice cool spot from which to watch the shows.
