It's the first day of Rock-tober, so we need to celebrate with a little music. This past Thursday night, Matt Lang and his rowdy band headlined the Théâtre Corona in Montreal, and with with a hockey game happening just a few blocks away, managed to sell out the venue. The Old Blog carries a bit of link with Matt Lang. Back in 2018, I figured that it would be pretty cool to photograph some concerts. I figured that the easiest way to do so would be to photograph some of the free shows that took place outside during the Summer. One of the first shows that I did was the 2018 Canada Day celebrations in Greenfield Park. The headliner on that night was none other than Matt Lang. Those photos I took that day ended up helping me get into some shows back in 2019, and in return, photos that I took at those shows and others over the years, ended up helping me to get in to this one. His very first album, More, was released in June of 2020, but there have been a couple of singles that have been released since then. That same year he was also nominated in the Rising Star category by the Canadian Country Music Association. He may not have one the award, but his star has continued to rise. Going to a Matt Lang concert is a true happening. They get up there and just let loose. I think you can tell by my photographs that they were all just having a great time up on the stage. Those in attendance were having a blast as well. The first photograph was taken at f/3.5, 1/250sec, ISO 3200 at 24mm and the second photograph was taken at f/3.5, 1/400sec, ISO 3200 at 28mm. Here are several more photographs that I ended up taking during his performance.

If you'd like to find out more about Matt Lang and his music, you can do so by following the link to his website. If you'd like to see the photographs that I took of Brittany Kennell who opened the show, you can do so by following the link. A big thank you to Jill Snell of Jayward Artist Group and to Joelle Proulx of Agence Ranch for getting me a pass to photograph the show. As always, it is very much appreciated. You can't go wrong with a Matt Lang show, it's guaranteed fun from start to finish. Head out to see him when he plays again near you.
