Dead Obies At Francos De Montréal

We're a little bit backed up on getting my concert photographs up here on The Old Blog.  I suppose we will catch up at some point, but this would be a good time to remind you that my concert photographs can be seen in a much more timely manner by visiting V13 Media, which you can do by following the link.  If you'd like an even more direct route to my photographs, you can visit my personal page over there but using the following link.  My final day of shows at the Francos de Montréal began with a rain soaked party hosted by South Shore rap and hip hop collective known as Dead Obies.  The clouds had been getting progressively darker the closer we got to their set time.  Sure enough, just as the first verses were to be sung, the rain began to fall.  It may have been raining, but there was no dampening the spirits of either the band or the fans.  “Tony Hawk” got the party started as the band attacked the stage. Snail Kid even came equipped with an adult beverage.  Though most of it ended up on the stage.  20some seemed to be a man possessed, stalking the stage from end to end during most of the set.  During the opening salvo of “Waiting” and “Runaway”, the others shared vocal duties as well.  For a group that hasn’t been very active over the last decade, they drew in an impressive collection of original fans, and many younger newcomers.  Did they learn about Dead Obies by raiding their parents record collection?  Or did they just happen to be there and take in the show. Regardless of how they got there, they were treated to an unforgettable performance.  All of the photographs were taken at f/3.2 while using various different shutter speeds, ISO settings and focal lengths.  Here are the rest of the photographs that I took of Dead Obies while they performed at  the Francos de Montréal.
