We're a little bit backed up on getting my concert
photographs up here on The Old Blog. I suppose we will catch up at some
point, but this would be a good time to remind you that my concert photographs
can be seen in a much more timely manner by visiting V13 Media,
which you can do by following the link. If you'd like an even more direct
route to my photographs, you can visit my personal page over there but using
the following
link. The first day of the Francos de Montréal gave fans a special treat. An up close and personal performance from
Québec’s Pop Music Queen, Marie-Mai. She
has sold out the Centre Bell 15 times over her career. On this night, she was on the Loto-Québec Stage. The stage might not
have been as big, but the reactions from the crowd were arena sized. She opened
her set with her big hit, "C’est
Moi" and had the crowd jumping around
before the end of the first verse. The
high energy opener set the tone for the rest of the set as the crowd never let
up, despite the over 30 degree Celcius heat.
Marie-Mai was obviously enjoying it as well. Pausing several times to look over the
raging crowd. The smile on her face couldn’t be hidden. It was only
a short one hour performance, but one not to be missed. It was a perfect way to kick off the Francos de Montréal festival. It also served as
a appetizer for Marie-Mai’s summer tour where she will hit several big
festivals all over Québec. There may be other
younger stars nipping at her heels, but this performance was a statement to anyone who may have doubted
her. Who is the Queen? Marie-Mai responded with let all know that
‘’c’est moi!’’ Yes, with an exclamation point. All of the photographs were taken at f/3.2 while using various different shutter speeds, ISO settings and focal lengths. Here are the rest of the photographs that I took of Marie-Mai during her Francos de Montréal performance.

Marie Mai At Francos De Montréal
If you would like to find out more about Marie-Mai and her music, you can do so by following the link to her website. Many thanks to Francos de Montréal and Christopher Gonda of V13 Media for getting me a pass to cover the event. It is very much appreciated. Marie-Mai will be performing all around Québec this Summer. Don't you dare miss it when she performs in a city near you.
