Headlining the second night of Fête Nationale festivities from the Parc de la Cité in the borough of Saint-Hubert is a Country music artist that fans of The Old Blog should remember. Francis Degrandpré has already been featured a few times on this page, and his show never disappoints. Things got off to a fiery start as he and his band hit the stage to the roar of guitars and blasts from some well placed pyrotechnics. The Crown Prince of Québec New Country drew a huge crowd to the park, all of whom were there to listen to his songs about hunting, fishing and having fun with friends. Fun was certainly on the menu on this night as it was an audience of all ages that filled the concert grounds at the park to take part in the event. Francis Degrandpré is terrific on the stage. Interacting with the crowd at several times and even taking to time
to hold a few poses so that yours truly could be sure to get a good shot. These country shows are always a blast to attend and this one was no different. It's a non-stop party from opening to closing note and everyone is invited. Easily one of the nicest artists that I have come across, it's been a blast to see his rise up the ranks of Québec's Country music charts. Best of all, he is still having as much fun up on the stage as he was the first time I saw him. His second album, Se laisser aller, was released last fall and the wind is definitely in his sails as he has been rocking through the province. All of the photographs were taken at f/3.2 while using various different shutter speeds, ISO settings and focal lengths. Here are the rest of the photographs that I took of Francs Degrandpré while he performed at the Parc de la Cité as part of the Fête National festivities.
If you would like to find out more about Francis Degrandpré and his music, you can do so by following the link to his website. If you would like to see the photographs of the various politicians, Hommage aux Colocs, Loud and Cindy Bédard, who all performed during the festivities, you can do so by following the respective links. A big thank you goes out to Line Tremblay and Audrey Pilon-Sylvestre, the Ville de Longueuil and Longueuil est culture for putting together these shows and for allowing me to shoot them. Merci beaucoup. Francis Degrandpré has several shows scheduled for the rest of the year, including a stop the the Lasso Festival in Montreal later this summer. Be sure to check him out if he is playing in a town near you.
