N-Nao At MTelus

We're a little bit backed up on getting my concert photographs up here on The Old Blog.  I suppose we will catch up at some point, but this would be a good time to remind you that my concert photographs can be seen in a much more timely manner by visiting V13Media, which you can do by following the link.  If you'd like an even more direct route to my photographs, you can visit my personal page over there but using the following link.  The year is still early, but one of the most anticipated shows of 2026 took place at the MTelus on the 6th.  Opening the evening was a young artist, N-Nao, was making her very first appearance at the MTelus.  Crowded against the curtain, she didn’t have much room to work with, but made sure that her music filled the room.  Moody, haunting and melodic, she owned her little bit of the stage.  Aside from the music, I appreciated the performance art aspect as well. Particularly, by having an assistant planted in the crowd.  From there, they lit her with a flashlight.  The flashlight was then passed to her on stage where N-Nao effectively lit herself while still singing.  Good stuff, though I do have to wonder if there was a backup plan in case some mischief maker might have taken off with the flashlight.  They would have probably had a bad meeting with the cracker jack MTelus security team.  N-Nao's most recent album was 2025's Nouveau Language.  With four other albums and a couple of EP's of music, there is certainly a lot out there to dig in to.  I will certainly be doing so, and so should all of you.  All of the photographs were taken at F/3.2 while using various different shutter speeds, ISO settings and focal lengths.  Here are the rest of the photographs that I took of N-Nao while she performed up on the MTelus stage.

Bad Religion At Centre Bell

 

We're a little bit backed up on getting my concert photographs up here on The Old Blog.  I suppose we will catch up at some point, but this would be a good time to remind you that my concert photographs can be seen in a much more timely manner by visiting V13Media, which you can do by following the link.  If you'd like an even more direct route to my photographs, you can visit my personal page over there but using the following link.  A couple of legendary punk rock bands took over the Centre Bell in Montreal for a night that electrified everyone who had the good fortune of being there.  The band charged with opening the evening was none other than Bad Religion.  You know it is going to be an awesome night when a headliner worthy band is in the opening slot.  These punk rock veterans still remain a force on stage and waste little time reminding us all.  Opening with “Recipe For Hate”, got the crowd up and hopping right away.  The jumping and raised fists continued with “Them And Us” as it became increasingly difficult to get some clear shots of the band from our outpost at the soundboard.  Unbothered by my obstructed view, the fans continued to party through the entire set.  Singer Greg Graffin sounded terrific and the band played everything sharp and loud.  Each song had a little video that played on the giant screen behind the band that really added to the presentation.  From the opening song all the way through to “American Jesus”, Bad Religion showed that there is still a lot of power under their hood.  What a great way to open the evening.  It's been quite a while since the last time we had a new Bad Religion album, so we're left wondering if there will be something new.  Even if there isn't, with 17 albums to their name, there is a huge wealth of music for fans to dig in to.  All of the photographs were taken at f/3.2 while using various different shutter speeds, ISO settings and focal lengths.  Here are the rest of the photographs that I took of Bad Religion as they performed on the Centre Bell stage.

The Offspring At Centre Bell

The Offspring recently made a visit to the Centre Bell, and I had the good fortune of being able to photograph the performance.  Unfortunately, I'm not allowed to publish them here on The Old Blog.  Not to fear, a simple click of the mouse will allow you to see them.  Just follow the link to my review of the show on V13 Media and you can find the photographs there.  Much thank goes out to The Offspring's management group, Sandee Bathgate at Bruce Allen Talent, Evenko and Christopher Gonda of V13 Media for getting me a pass to photograph the show.  As always, it is much appreciated.  It was an awesome show.  Don't you dare miss it when The Offspring plays in a town near you.
