I'm always a fan of stories that involve young people following through on their dreams. Though they will be celebrating 30 years together as a group next year, Noir Silence began back in 1993 as four young CEGEP students who decided to follow their dreams of playing music and entered a contest called CEGEP Rocks! They placed second on the contest, but still found their way to a record deal and first album two years later. It included the hits 'On Jase de Toi' and 'Made in the U.S.A.', which even found their way to this young anglophones ears. Here we are, almost 30 years later, with the band getting ready to celebrate a huge milestone and me with my camera getting the chance to photograph them. That is pretty cool. Noir Silence were in the Parc St-Marc as part of the Summer concert series put together by the Ville de Longueuil and Longueuil est Culture. When the series was announced, Noir Silence were presented as one of the headliners for this years shows, and they drew a huge gathering of their followers to the park to see them. Not to take anything away from the other shows I have photographed this year, but things are just that much more fun for me with a banging drum and wailing guitars. They appeared to be having as much fun as the crowd with this being one of their first live shows since 'The Plague' shut the World down. Their energy was infectious and even the Seated Section was on their feet and rocking out before the night was over. The first photograph was taken at f/3.2, 1/800sec, ISO 1600 at 24mm and the second photograph was taken at f/3.2, 1/2000sec, ISO 1600 at 24mm. Here are several more photographs that I took of their performance.

You can find out more about Noir Silence and their music by following the link to their website. As always, thanks to the Ville de Longueuil and Longueuil est Culture for all of the work they put in producing these show. It was a terrific show and it was great to feel the pounding of the base going through me as I was crouched between a couple of speaker stacks during some of the song. A great night to be out an enjoying some good tunes.
