The Heir Apparent had a birthday the other day. She just turned four, and it just seems like yesterday that we brought her home. To mark the occasion, My Lovely Assistant whipped up a birthday cake with enough sugar in it to stir up a room of toddlers into a frenzy. Maybe an adult or two as well. It was covered in enough Smarties and sugar candies to make any dentist faint and you can assure that some teeth were well brushed before bedtime. Much like the gingerbread house at Christmas, it didn't take very long before every last piece was gone. The photograph was taken at f/7.1, 1/30sec, ISO 6400 at 70mm and cropped to 12inches by 4.5inches to stretch the photograph out. I'm more of a salty treat kind of guy, but anything with Smarties included is good by me. Judging by how little was left, it certainly went over well with all of the bellies in the room, and all of the colours were fun for the eyes as well.
