The Beaches At Théâtre Corona

When it comes to current Canadian rock bands, it's hard to argue that Toronto's The Beaches shouldn't be close to the top of the list. They're certainly my favourite current Canadian rockers, though I may be a little bit biased since they were also the very first band that granted me a photo pass to shoot their show back in 2018.  We've both come a long way since then.  I'd like to think that I've gotten a little bit better, that there really isn't much of a question in their case.  In a few short years since the release of their first full length album, The Late Show (2017), they've been the headlining entertainment at a Grey Cup, were personally chosen by The Rolling Stones to open their only Canadian concert back in 2019 and last year their debut album reached Gold status for sales in Canada.  This tour, originally scheduled to take place back in February, but rescheduled due to you-know-what, sees them supporting their latest EP, Future Lovers, which was released last year and then bundled with their previous EP, The Professional, to create the unofficial Sisters Not Twins album. This show at the Théâtre Corona in Montreal, was the first night of a Canada wide tour which will see then play in much of our home and native land.  They certainly chose the right city to kick things off as the crowd was loud and ready to burst as the lights began to dim.  The Beaches responded with a high energy rock and roll show that left everyone a little hot, sweaty and breathless.  Not bad for a Monday night in Montreal.  The first photograph was taken at f/3.2, 1/250sec, ISO 1600 at 24mm and the second photograph was taken at f/3.2, 1/250sec, ISO 1600 at 24mm.  Here are several more photographs of their performance.

If you'd like to find out more about The Beaches and their music, please follow the link to their website.  If you'd like to see the photographs of The Blue Stones, who opened the concert, you can do so by following this link.  A big thank you goes out to Marc Pollack of MGMT Company and Laurie Lee Boutet of Wednesday Management for getting me a pass to the show.  This was my third time shooting The Beaches and they just get better each time.  Here's to hoping that there will soon be a fourth.
