The Blue Stones At Théâtre Corona

I've been rather fortunate the last little while as I found myself photographing my third concert in five days.  This time I was back at my favourite concert venue, the Théâtre Corona in Montreal, and the opening band was The Blue Stones.  It's always a good idea to support local musical talent, and The Blue Stones, a Blues-Rock duo based out of Windsor, Ontario, certainly fit the bill.  I first heard them on the radio a few years back when their first single, Black Holes (Solid Ground) was getting played a lot.  Here we are a few short years, and two albums later, and their opening a Canada wide tour for another of Canada's current big rock bands (The Beaches).  Since those early days, they have had three more singles hit the Top 5 in Canada and were promoting their second album, Hidden Gems, which was released last year.  They were nominated for Breakthrough Group of the Year at the 2020 Juno Awards, and though they didn't win, they certainly had a large contingent of fans on hand to watch them play.  The first photograph was taken at f/3.2, 1/160sec, ISO 1600 at 28mm.  Here are several more photographs that I took of their performance.

If you'd like to find out more about The Blue Stones and their music, feel free to follow the link to their website.  If you'd like to see the photographs of The Beaches, who headlined the show, you can do so by following this link.  It's been a slow but steady climb for The Blue Stones over the last few years.  With their current growth, it wouldn't be much of a surprise to see the mentioned soon in the same breath of another famous Canadian rock duo, Death From Above.  That is a pretty impressive place to be.
