Dwane Dixon At Longueuil Ribfest

I had so much fun at the Longueuil Ribfest on Saturday, that I decided to head back for a second serving on Sunday.  A second serving of tunes that is.  I'm sure that the ribs were great too, but it was the call of the guitar that brought me back.  One of the reasons was that I really wanted to see Dwane Dixon perform.  A known name on the Montreal concert circuit, he has built a name for himself as one of the great blues and rock guitarists we have.  Things got off to a rough start as he broke a string seconds in to the performance, but once the spare was installed, it was all hands on deck for a rockin' good time.  He mixed some cover songs in with his originals, including my personal favouite, 'Betting On a Gambling Man', and finished off with a great version of Nothing Else Matters by Metallica.  Since I probably won't be photographing that show, though this is me putting it out in to the universe that doing so would be awesome, I can at least say that I photographed one of their songs.  The first photograph was taken at f/3.2, 1/640sec, ISO 400 at 63mm.  Here are some more photographs of his performance.

If you'd like to find out more about Dwane Dixon and his music, you can do so by following the link to his website.  If you'd like to see the photographs that I took of Johnny Zatylny & The Roots Band, who performed later that night, you can do so by following the link.  Once again, a big thanks to Pennie Berrworth for the pass and to her crew for their great work.  Dwane Dixon plays several shows every year in and around the Montreal area, head out to see him play live.  It's a great show.
