Short Of Breath

Time for another little family photography project.  As everyone with a lawn is well aware, we are deep into weed season.  They are everywhere.  Lately, it's white dandelions who have taken over the yard.  With that in mind, I figured that I'd try and recreate a rather famous well known  and repeated shot of someone blowing the seeds away in to the wind.  With out dandelion chomping Crown Prince busy elsewhere, The Heir Apparent and I set up in the backyard and found a couple of white weeds just waiting to be blow away.  There was just one little problem.  The Heir Apparent didn't quite have enough air in her lungs to blow the seeds away.  Much like the Big, Bad Wolf when coming face to face with a brick piggy house, she huffed, and she puffed, but she couldn't blow those seeds off the flower.  I did manage to find one show where the seeds parted down the middle, so for this year, it will suffice.  The photograph was taken at f/4.5, 1/500sec, ISO 100 at 70mm.  If you want to look on the bright side, I didn't get the exact show I wanted, but at least we didn't spread any more seeds over the rest of the yard.  That counts for something.
