Justin Saladino Band At Parc Empire

All good things must come to an end, and the Summer Concert Series put together by the Ville de Longueuil and Longueuil est Culture has wrapped up.  It was a little rainy this year and several shows got cancelled, but those that managed to sneak around this terminally wet season were all terrific.  It's not easy to close out a good party, but The Justin Saladino Band did just that.  The band let it be known early that it was going to be a rocking night and rocked we were.  It was a bit of a sweaty night and the weather fit in perfectly with the Southern mix of rock and blues that the band play.  The show was under a gazebo in Greenfield Park, but wouldn't have felt out of place in a Southern Blues Bar.  We got a nice selection of original tunes along with some well chosen covers mixed in to the set-list that had the usually seated crown up on their feet and roaring by the end.  The Heir Apparent had a great time as well, taking photographs with me and also dancing the night away to the great music.  She was rewarded at the end of the night with a guitar pick, which she has been strumming on various household items since.  The Justin Saladino Band describes their sound as being a guitar driven blend of rock, blues, folk, funk and jam.  The description is very accurate as solos were traded all evening and I love nothing more than some classic back and forth soloing.  It sounds great and it can also produce some great photos.  Their most recent album, Honest Lies was released in 2022 and their live performance shows off the talent that earned them a nomination as Best New Artist at the Maple Blues Awards in 2018.  The first photograph was taken at f/3.2, 1/1600sec, ISO 3200 at 125mm and the second photograph was taken at f/3.2, 1/4000sec, ISO 3200 at 75mm.  Here are several more photographs of their performance.

If you'd like to find out more about The Justin Saladino Band and their music, you can do so by following the link to their website.  Once more, a big thank you goes out to the Ville de Longueuil and Longueuil est Culture for putting on these shows all Summer.  The Justin Saladino Band make lots of festival stops over the Summer months, so if you may have missed them the year, don't make the same mistake by missing them again when they roll through town.  A great night was had by all.
