The Warning At Studio TD

Only a few years ago, I had never heard of The Warning before.  Though they originally got discovered for a killer version of the Metallica hit, Enter Sandman, my first experience was hearing their songs on local radio.  A couple of singles eventually led to an appearance at Montreal's legendary Foufounes Electriques which I ended up missing out on.  But, I was very fortunate to see, and photograph, them last fall during a performance at Place Bell in Laval.  Feel free to go back in time and check out the photos by following the linkThe Warning were the opening act on that night, but they were headlining the show at Le Studio TD and based on the size of the crowd, they're going to need to find a bigger venue for their next visit.  I've never seen such a line at the building before the show began, or so many people packed inside.  They were standing even in the Upper Deck, which is often not even open for several of the shows I have seen there.  I know it's a little cliché, but people were literally hanging off the rafters on this night.  And what a show they got to experience.  These three sisters from Mexico rock like no others.  The trio produce a wall of noise some larger groups never achieve and their songs hit like no others.  They obviously have a huge following here and at such a young age, they range from 18 to 23, one can't help but imagine what kind of heights they will eventually achieve.  A few weeks ago I photographed the band Halestorm, check out the photos by following the link, and mentioned how singer Lzzy Hale had one of the strongest voices in rock today.  She faces some competition from Daniela Villarreal whose strong vocals are one of the appeals of the band.  Her roar is felt on the albums, but is even more impressive live on stage.  Their most recent album, Error, was released last Summer and they are touring in support of it.  The first photograph was taken at f/3.2, 1/640sec, ISO 16000 at 24mm and the second photograph was taken at f/3.2, 1/80sec, ISO 16000 at 63mm.  Here are several more photographs that I took of their performance.

If you'd like to find out more about The Warning and their music, you can do so by following the link to their website.  If you'd like to see the photographs that I took of Mute Choir, who performed earlier in the evening, you can do so by following the link.  A big thank you to Evan Peters of 21Entertainment Group for getting me a pass to shoot the show.  As always, it is very appreciated.  The Warning are easily at the top of my favourite young bands, though calling them a young band isn't really the case.  They may be young, but have been playing together since a very young age.  It's always a treat when The Warning comes to town, and next time will be sure to be in a bigger venue to hold their many fans.  Be sure to check them out when they visit your town.
