Fall Colours

For the longest time, I have held off on using cell phone photographs on The Old Blog.  Call me an old-time purist, but I always felt that cameras should be used to take photographs.  I still do.  However, it sometimes isn't that practical to carry that huge brick around my neck.  And sometimes the young people you are walking with have attitude changes on the turn of a dime that mean sticking around in one spot to get just the right shot isn't really an option.  While out for a Sunday stroll, we came upon this little scene.  I didn't have my camera with me, so I pulled out the cell phone to see what it could do.  Admittedly short on practice, I composed what I wanted to see but shot it in Automatic.  I then fixed those mistakes afterwards on the computer.  The phone decided to take the photograph at f/2.2, 1/1250sec, ISO 50 at 1.4mm.  I would have probably opted for something more along the times of f/7.1, but I guess I'll have to dig out the instruction manual to figure out how to properly do that.  Time to see if you really can teach an old dog new tricks.
