We're a little bit backed up on getting my concert photographs up here
on The Old Blog. I suppose we will catch up at some point, but this
would be a good time to remind you that my concert photographs can be
seen in a much more timely manner by visiting V13Media, which you can do
by following the link. If you'd like an even more direct route to my
photographs, you can visit my personal page over there but using the
following link. I got to take in a great Blues concert that took place at the Théâtre Beanfield back at the beginning of the month. On the bill was young blues hotshot, Mathias Lattin. The winner of the 2023 International Blues
Challenge wasted little time in introducing himself to us musically. Jaws were already on the floor moments in to
his cover of Albert King’s “Cadillac Assembly Line”. A very playful
intro to “Lose Some Weight”
endeared himself to the already welcoming crowd. He then finished up with a cover of “Little
Wing” that would have earned praise from Jimi himself. Mathias Lattin's performance left the crowd wanting to hear much more. To a degree, he obliged by heading to the merch
stand after his set. From there, he set up shop to meet and greet his room full of new fans. As for myself, Mathias Lattin's debut album, Up Next, has already been ordered and will soon be added to my collection. That is, once it makes it through the logjam caused by our recent postal strike.I can’t wait to hear more from him in the
future. All of the photographs were taken at f/3.2 while using various different shutter speeds, ISO settings and focal lengths. Here are the rest of the photographs that I took of Mathias Lattin while he performed on the Théâtre Beanfield stage.
If you would like to find out more about Mathias Lattin and his music, you can do so by following the link to his website. If you would like to see the photographs that I took of Christone 'Kingfish' Ingram, who performed later that night, you can do so by following the link. Mathias Lattin is the kind of young guitar player that you just know is going to go far. I am so happy to have caught him so early in his career. It means that there are a good number of years of great music still look forward to hearing. Don't you dare miss it when Mathias Lattin performs in a town near you.
