Matthew Good At MTelus

We're a little bit backed up on getting my concert photographs up here on The Old Blog.  I suppose we will catch up at some point, but this would be a good time to remind you that my concert photographs can be seen in a much more timely manner by visiting V13Media, which you can do by following the link.  If you'd like an even more direct route to my photographs, you can visit my personal page over there but using the following link.  Winter came early to Montreal this year.  On the Sunday through Tuesday that led up to Matthew Good's show at the MTelus, Mother Nature dropped 20 centimeters of snow on our fine city.  For those who were in need of an escape from the storm, they only needed to follow their ears down Ste. Catherine street where a line of fans were waiting for Matthew Good to take the stage.  The MTelus in Montreal held what I described as a Big Shiny Music night.  I’m guessing that most of you are a big younger than your friendly neighbouhood photographer.  Meaning that you may not be aware of a series of CD’s that MuchMusic used to produce.  They were called Big Shiny Tunes, and featured a mix of hits from the current year.  It was through that series that I first learned of our featured performer.  After the change in sets was completed, shrouded in darkness, Matthew Good and his band hit the stage.  One of Canada’s great rock voices, he opened the show with “Champions of Nothing”.  He was very chatty on the night, mentioning his love of the MontrealCanadiens.  This obviously went over very well with the crowd.  This led to a haunting version of “Aparitions” that had the crowd swaying.  Another little chat led to the next song.  The song that Matthew Good said had brought us all out to the show.  “Hello Time Bomb” got the room rocking, allowing one and all to shake off all of that unwelcomed snow.  At least until the end of the night when we left out nice warm room of big shiny music, only to return to the cold snowy streets from whence we came.  Matthew Good's most recent release was 2020's Moving Walls, so it's fair to say that the fans are thirsty for something new.  Perhaps in 2026?  We'll all have to wait and see.  All of the photographs were taken at f/3.2 while using various different shutter speeds, ISO settings and focal lengths.  Here are the rest of the photographs that I took of Matthew Good as he performed on the MTelus stage.

If you would like to find out more about Matthew Good and his music, you can do so by following the link to his  Facebook page.  If you would like to see the photographs of I Mother Earth, who performed earlier that evening, you can do so by following the link.  A big thank you goes out to Matthew Good's team at Paquin Entertainment Group, Evenko and Christopher Gonda at V13 Media for getting me a pass to photograph the show.  As usual, it is very much appreciated.  Matthew Good's current tour has come to an end, but he is sure to be back on the road again soon.  Don’t you dare miss it when he plays a town near you.
