La Force is the stage name for vocalist Ariel Engle, who is also known as being one of the vocalists in the group Broken Social Scene. I read about her performance in the news before making my trek down to the International Festival de Jazz de Montreal and when I found out that her performance filled a nice hole in my schedule, I decided to drop by. The show was taking place in the M2, which is an intimate little room over the MTelus. I had never been there before, and though tiny, it was the perfect place to host her powerful vocals and unique musical style. A very cool discovery, both the location and the artist.
